Crunch captain Konopka to throw first pitch on June 30
Syracuse Crunch captain Zenon Konopka will throw out the ceremonial first pitch on June 30 prior to the Chiefs' game against Pawtucket.

Syracuse, NY - The Syracuse Chiefs announced today that Syracuse Crunch captain Zenon Konopka will throw out the ceremonial first pitch when the Chiefs host the Pawtucket Red Sox at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 30 at Alliance Bank Stadium.

Konopka, 27, appeared in 62 games for the Crunch last season, tallying 24 goals, 31 assists and 194 penalty minutes. He also appeared in 3 games for Columbus last season, picking up 15 penalty minutes.

A native of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Konopka was acquired by Columbus from Anaheim along with Curtis Glencross and a seventh round pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft in exchange for Joe Motzko, Mark Hartigan and a fourth round pick in 2007 NHL Entry Draft on January 26, 2007.
